Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to AutoMateMe (ABN 47 641 615 076), a sole trader business, an Australian business operating automateme.au and the associated customer portal and admin systems ("the Platform"). It explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, including: your name, business name, email address, phone number, and postal address; account login details; payment and billing information processed through our payment provider; domain registrant details required by domain registries (name, organisation, address, email, phone); and the content of enquiries, support tickets, and messages you send us.

We also collect some information automatically, such as basic technical and usage data generated by using the Platform (for example, log data from our hosting provider). We do not currently use analytics or advertising tracking tools such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel; if that changes, this policy will be updated first.

How we use your information

We use personal information to: create and manage your account; provide, provision, and renew the services you purchase (domains, hosting, email, SSL, Microsoft 365, and related infrastructure); process payments; register domains with the relevant registry (which requires submitting registrant contact details as part of that registration); respond to enquiries and support requests; send transactional emails (order confirmations, receipts, renewal notices, service updates); and meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing to third parties.

Who we share information with

We share personal information with the service providers we use to run the Platform, only to the extent needed for them to provide their service to us:

• Supabase - authentication and database hosting for your account and order data.

• Stripe - payment processing. We do not store your full card details ourselves; Stripe handles and stores payment information directly.

• Resend - delivery of transactional emails (confirmations, receipts, notifications).

• Synergy Wholesale - our domain and hosting provider. Domain registrant details are submitted to Synergy and, where a domain registration requires it, to the relevant domain registry, in order to register or transfer a domain on your behalf.

• Netlify - hosting and infrastructure for the Platform itself.

Some of these providers may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider is bound by privacy and security commitments consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may also disclose personal information where required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AutoMateMe, our customers, or others.

Cookies

The Platform uses essential cookies required for you to stay logged in and for the portal and checkout to function. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies.

Data security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Access to customer data within our systems is restricted to what is needed to operate the Platform and provide support.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations (for example, order and payment records). You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time, subject to records we are required to keep by law.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask questions about how it is handled, at any time by contacting us using the details below. If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, you can also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Platform or our practices change. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.
